Carbon tetra chloride (CTC) is harmful to health and environment. It is an ozone depleting substance (ODS), toxic and suspected carcinogenic to human health. It is often used in stain remover formulation.
MANTRA undertook an R&D project on “To phase out CTC from the decentralized textile processing sector” which was sponsored by Deptt. of Industries & Mines, Govt. of Gujarat and M/s Colourtex Pvt. Ltd., As an outcome of this project, MANTRA has developed an eco-friendly stain remover-cum-scouring agent called MANTRA CTC Substitute product. This product does not contain CTC and other hazardous solvents. The product exhibits following features:-
